Spacetech Pitch Session
We founded Space Ambition with the mission of assisting entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem builders in advancing the aerospace sector. On November 28th, we hosted our first pitch session. This event featured presentations from 11 dynamic startups and drew the participation of over 25 investors, including prominent venture capital funds and representatives from government agencies specializing in innovation and investment. The startups showcased a diverse range of technologies, from software to hardware, from solutions aimed at improving life on Earth to groundbreaking 'moonshot' technologies. It was truly global with start-ups and investors from the Americas, Europe, MENA region, and Southeast Asia.
Thank you all for joining us this week. If you are a startup, VC, angel investor, or ecosystem builder, please join our next pitch session in Q1 2024. To be added to the waiting list, kindly send us an email at hello@spaceambition.org.
Spacetech VC Internship for School Children in Singapore
At Space Ambition, we firmly believe that driving meaningful change requires a new wave of inspiration, education, and mentorship to cultivate the next generation of skilled professionals.
That’s why in partnership with Space Faculty’s Space Internship Programme (SIP) supported and Temasek Secondary School, we recently hosted an internship for four high school students. During the internship, the students received an in-depth look into the specifics of the VC business and methods for assessing startups. They also completed a case study of Bessemer's investment in Rocket Lab. We hope that we have managed to inspire the interns to pursue a career in the aerospace sector and that in a decade, some of them will launch an aerospace startup or become Spacetech VCs. The phrase 'You cannot be what you cannot see' took on real meaning as the children spent a week shadowing the principal of a prominent US venture capital fund. We are delighted to play a role in nurturing the future of Singapore's space talent. If you would like to intern at Space Ambition and Space Faculty, please send your resume to hello@spaceambition.org and learn@spacefaculty.asia, and explain why you need the internship. Take a SIP of space with us 🍹!
Spacetech Meet-up
We held our 3rd Spacetech meetup in a mixed format. This time, it was conducted both online and offline across six countries. Discussions centered around Earth Observation for real-world applications in various industries, the current state of the aerospace market in Europe, and the exploration of Venus. We were inspired by a group of teenagers who traveled six hours to join our event! We hope we ignite a spark in their hearts. This commitment deeply moved us. We plan to host similar events next year in various parts of the world, and if you’d like to volunteer and help us organize a local meetup in your city, please send us an email at hello@spaceambition.org.
At Space Ambition, we believe that anyone can be an ecosystem builder if they care deeply enough. Don’t heed the naysayers. Follow the call of your heart. Necessary resources will emerge as you progress. Remember, every significant journey begins with a single step. Embark on yours. If you have any ideas or need assistance, please feel free to email us.
